Buying Property in Crete - Title Deeds to Your House or Plot of Land
Unlike the United Kingdom there are not title deeds that need to be lodged with a bank or in a safe place. The original signed copy of the contract is kept in the Notary's office along with supporting documents - signed copy of the topography, tax receipts etc.
We supply you with
- a stamped, notarised copy of the contract
- a copy of the signed copy of the topography
- the registration certificate
- a list of useful telephone numbers and addresses
- details of things you now have to do as a property owner
Should you lose any of these, do not worry, they can be replaced. Normally there is a small charge for replacement of the stamped copy of the contract and topography. It is important that you remember the Notary's details as the original copies of everything are kept in her office. There are, of course, copies kept at the Land Registry too.
